I was fortunate enough to attend the Collaborate for Change sessions at this year's BETT and chose a workshop session by Bev Evans (@bevevans22) and these are the gems I took away from it ...
We Tell Stories - a Penguin site which enables input by readers. Examplar uses of Google Map for telling stories.
Deviant Art - some beautiful illustrations that can be downloaded for storytelling.
Technostories is Bev's own blog where you'll find a wealth of activities
Zooburst for creating 3D pop up stories
Storybird ... using art to inspire story telling
Kerpoof Studio ... owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company and encouraging fun and creativity, writing and storytelling
Boys often do quite well when they are asked to design a game and then to write instructions for a fellow student. Google Sketchup can also encourage creativity and conversation.
(Think about acquiring a DOS-based computer and encouraging students to develop simple games ... spelling in coding is key! )
Land of Me - from Ladybird ... you can trial this for free
Puppet Pals app - for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch - both free and charged for versions available but gaining in popularity.
Cover It Live - live blogging!
Quadblogging - David Mitchell's global blogging activity
